Funeral services for Mrs. Nannie Ruth Barnes, age 85, of Fayetteville will be conducted at 11 AM Tuesday at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Clardy officiating. Burial will follow in Prospect Cemetery beside her husband Bert Douglas Barnes. Mrs. Barnes passed away Saturday evening at Lincoln Medical Center.
A daughter of the late Jude and Ethel Ayers Corbin, she was a native of Lincoln County, retired from Lincoln County Nursing Home and Hospital where she worked in the dietary department, a veteran of the Women’s Army Corps, and a member of Prospect Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sons Robert Pixley Barnes and wife Beverly of Indiana, Thomas D. Barnes and wife Deborah of Howell, and Richard Julius Barnes of Tyler, TX, daughters Linda K. Reavis and husband Garry of Fayetteville, Ruthie Faye Cutlip and husband Bob of Fayetteville, and Suzanne Ivey and husband Mike of Fayetteville, 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and brother Jr. Corbin and wife Nancy of Florida.
Visitation with the family will be from 5-8 PM Monday evening at Higgins Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 201 West Lincoln St., Tullahoma, TN 37388.
