Myles Atchley

It is with regret that we announce the passing of Myles Atchley, age 71, of Fayetteville, TN. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 1 PM at the Paint Rock Missionary Baptist Church, Life Center at 302 Church Street, Paint Rock, AL 35764.

Myles was born October 21, 1949 to the late Odell and Vivian Atchley. He married his wife, Julia, on August 4, 2001 and they were about to celebrate 20 years of marriage. Mr. Atchley retired from Goodman/Amana as a machine operator after 42 years of service where he earned the nickname “Hollywood”. After retirement he worked at Genesco. Myles loved the outdoors, working on cars, going to car shows and railing. He enjoyed yard work, his grandchildren and helping his neighbors. He passed away on May 27, 2021.

Survivors include his loving wife, Julia; children, Alta Edwards of Paint Rock, AL, Stephanie Atchley (Ryan Moran) of Fayetteville, LeTonya (Brian) King of Gurley, AL, Bryan (Angie) Towry of Kelso, Phelica (Keith) Moyers of Spring Hill, Jason (Angel) Towry of Tullahoma; 16 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; brother, Charles (Linda) Atchley of Paint Rock, AL; sisters, Katie Smith of Scottsboro, AL, Debra (Jesse) Sisk of Paint Rock, AL; and sister-in-law, Rhonda Atchley of Paint Rock, AL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Odell and Vivian Atchley; brother Alton Ray Atchley; and his great grandson, Benjamin Parson.

I did not know Mr. Atchley but my mother, Paula Kelley, worked with him and thought the world of him. She spoke of him often and always enjoyed seeing him. So sorry for this great loss.

My dear cousin,
I am so sorry for the loss of Myles. All of the feelings and emotions you must be experiencing are all too familiar to me. I do know if you lean on our almighty God, you will make it through. That is how I have survived. Prayers for you in the coming days, weeks and months.
