Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred Katherine Massey Groce, age 91, of Fayetteville will be conducted Tuesday, October 18 at 11 AM at Chestnut Ridge Church of Christ with Bro. Bill Cantrell and Bro. Joe Wayne McGee officiating.. Burial will follow in Melson Cemetery beside her husband Reuben T. “Hunky” Groce, who passed away in December of 2005. Mrs. Groce passed away October 15, 2011 at her residence.
Mrs. Groce was a native of Lincoln County, the daughter of the late Charles and Gracie Mae Hale Massey. She was employed as a seamstress at Serbin for 20 years..
Survivors include her daughters Nancy Carol Groce of Fayetteville, Judy Groce Franklin and husband Robert of Lynchburg, and Marsha Groce Bates and husband Jimmy, of Fayetteville, sons Wayne Groce and wife Dana of Murfreesboro and Ronnie Groce and wife Juandell of Smyrna, grandchildren Angie Franklin, Amy Smith, Annissa Rapoza, Alisha Krause, Chris Groce, Ben Groce, Meleia Dotson, Melanie Groce, Michael Groce, Anna Casey, Sara Bates, and Thomas Bates, and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Visitation with the family will be Monday from 4-8 PM at Higgins Funeral Home
