Michael Robert Smith

Michael Robert Smith, age 70, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and native of Fayetteville, Tennessee passed away at his residence on Jan. 28, 2015. Michael was a government contractor and a self-employed business owner in South Carolina. He was of the Baptist faith. Michael was preceded in death by parents Robert Clay Smith and Maudie Howell Smith and brother Richard Clay Smith.

Michael is survived by seven children: Kent Smith von Hohenstein of Wurzburg, Germany, Kristie Smith Harmon of Huntsville, Alabama, Lisa Smith (Robert) Branham of Camden, South Carolina, Melissa Smith of Liberty, South Carolina, Michelle Smith (Jason) Ruby of Jackson, Ohio, Katy Smith (Matthew) Robertson of Columbus, Ohio, and Mark Smith of Irmo, South Carolina. He is also survived by his sister Arden Smith (Con) Humphrey of Fayetteville, Tennessee and special friend Florence Cheatham of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

There are nine grandchildren who survive, Meghan Smith of Moulton, Alabama, Max von Hohenstein of Wurzburg, Germany, Jacob Anders and Nathan Anders of Huntsville, Alabama, Mason Branham and Emma Branham of Camden, South Carolina, Caleb Courville of Liberty, South Carolina, Medea Ruby and Lainey Ruby of Jackson, Ohio.

Interment will be in Lincoln Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
