Mattie Florence Jester Johnson

Funeral services for Mattie Florence Jester Johnson, age 92 of Fayetteville, will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens beside her husband Rollie Cullum Johnson. Mrs. Johnson passed away Tuesday at Donalson Skill Care Center.

A native of Lincoln County, Mrs. Johnson was the daughter of the late Carl and Viola Stevenson Jester and a former employee of Serbin Fashions and Jonathan Logan Manufacturing. She was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include a daughter Janice Johnson Lee of Fayetteville, son Randall F. Johnson of Fayetteville, grandchildren Rick (Paula) Cornelius of Fayetteville, Wes (Cindy Murphy) Cornelius of Fayetteville and Susan Lee (Patrick) Hutchens of Hazel Green, AL, great-grandchildren Benjamin Cornelius and Walker Hutchens, two sisters Nancy Brazelton of Huntsville, AL and Etha Jean Moses of St. Louis, MO, and Vernell Pressnell of Fayetteville. She was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother Carleen Abbott, W. T. Jester, Martha Burch and Magalene Martin and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday from 11a.m. – 2 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Cumberland Presbyterian Church or Charity of Choice.
