Funeral service for Mary Valma Slayton, age 86, of Fayetteville, TN, will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Sonny Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the Lincoln Cemetery.
Mary was born on January 6, 1935 in Lincoln County, TN to the late Luther and Rosie Hone Fulgham. She worked as a seamstress at Lee Manufacturing and was of the Baptist Faith. Mrs. Slayton passed away on November 13, 2021 at Donalson Care Center.
Survivors include her son, Dick (Phyllis) Slayton of Wilmington, IL; grandchildren, Shawn (Amanda) Slayton, Josh (Angie) Slayton, Charissa (Jeff) Dehler, Richard (Jamie) Slayton, and Holly Crowson and family; great-grandchildren, Riley Dehler, Chase Dehler, Kayle Slayton, William Slayton, Chris Slayton, Taylor Slayton, Debra Slayton, and Curtis Slayton; and great-great-grandchildren, Kayden Slayton, Rylin Slayton, and Grayson Jones. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Joel Ray Slayton; son, Kerry Slayton and his wife, Nancy; brother, Billy Fulgham; and a sister, Rachel Hill.
Visitation with the family will be from 5 PM until 8 PM on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Higgins Funeral Home. Higgins Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Mary Valma Slayton.
