Mary Holland Spray McBay

It is with regret we announce the passing of Mrs. Mary Holland Spray McBay, age 95, of Fayetteville, TN. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Lebanon Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 12 pm to 2 pm on Wednesday at Higgins.

Mrs. McBay was born August 2, 1926, in Lincoln County, TN to the late Willie Robert and Mary Elizabeth Johnson Spray. She was a seamstress at Serbin and then went on to work for many years at Eighth District School. Mary was a member of West End Baptist Church. She passed away February 20, 2022, at Lincoln Manor.

Survivors include her daughters, Judy (Morris) Mills of Fayetteville, and Jean (William) Bentley of Hawkinsville, GA; grandchildren, Eddie (Kimberly) Mills, Trevecca Doggett, Emily (Kenneth) Hendley, John (Kylie) Rollins; great-grandchildren, Caroline Mills, Gracie Mills, Ella Kate Mills, Mary Beth Gates, Abbygail Carter, Grayson Carter, Harlie Sanders, Hunter Rollins, and Paslie Rollins; great-great-granddaughter, Astrid Martinez; sisters, Betty (Cliff) Marshall, and Laura Parker; and many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Eddie Lee McBay; brothers, Cleveland (Dick) Spray, J.W. Spray, Robert Spray, and Carl Wilson Spray; and sisters, Ruby Cantrell, Elizabeth Rutledge, and Ruth Bass.

The family would like to share their sincere appreciation to all the staff at Lincoln Manor for the wonderful love and care shown to their mother.

Judy and family , I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Granny McBay . I always enjoyed talking with her in the nursing home and I know she will be missed by many . Prayers for all in the coming days .
