Funeral services for Mary Elizabeth “Momzie” Mitchell, age 77, of Frankewing will be conducted Saturday at 11AM at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Henry officiating. Burial will follow in New Grove Cemetery. Ms. Mitchell passed away Thursday afternoon in St. Thomas Hospital.
She was a native of Lincoln County and the daughter of the late Esker Leamon and Ada Lucy Freeman Mitchell. Ms. Mitchell was retired from Amana Refrigeration and a member of the Liberty Church of Christ.
Survivors include her sons, Wayne and Wade Mitchell both of Fayetteville, Keith Mitchell and wife Teresa and Roger Mitchell all of Frankewing, daughters Lynnita Taylor and husband Jerry of Fayetteville and Shelia Stubblefield of Frankewing, brothers David and Jerry Mitchell both of the Huey community, Paul Mitchell of Pulaski, and Michael Mitchell of Dellrose, sisters Sandra Bledsoe of Pulaski and Brenda Davis of Petersburg, caregiver and friend Alice Phillips and special friend Kandy Carlisle, nine grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Ms. Mitchell was preceded in death by brother L.C. Mitchell and daughter-in-law Carol Mitchell.
Visitation with the family will be Friday evening 5-8PM at Higgins Funeral Home.
