Mary Ann Lane Gray

Funeral service for Mary Ann Lane Gray, age 77, of Taft, TN will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Jeremy Hudgins officiating. Burial will follow in the Kirkland Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5 PM until 8 PM on Friday, August 7, 2026, at Higgins Funeral Home.

Mary Ann was born on May 15, 1949, in Lincoln County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Howard Benton Lane, Sr. and Nell David Sumners Lane. A 1967 graduate of Central High School, she cherished her lifelong connections with her classmates and never missed a class luncheon. Over the years, she was employed with Scovill and later co-owned and operated Roy and Rogers Western Apparel alongside her late husband, Roy Lee Gray. Faith and community were central to her life as a devoted member of Kirkland Baptist Church. Outside of work and worship, Mary Ann found joy in the outdoors—tending to her garden, maintaining her farm, caring for her cows, and enjoying local travels. Mrs. Gray passed away on August 5, 2026, at HH Lincoln Health.

Survivors include her children, Cindy (Mark) Ballew of Fayetteville, TN, Chris (Robin) Bevels of Taft, TN, and Lee Ann (Chad) Bradley of Taft, TN; grandchildren, Jamie (Andrew) Fultz, Corey (Whitney) Ballew, Wes (Lindsey) Bevels, Branden (Shelby) Bevels, Robert Bevels (Courtney Posey) and the late Tony Lee Bradley; great-grandchildren, Charleigh Paige Ballew, Lincoln Fultz, Harrison Bevels, Grant Fultz, Logan Ballew, Avery Mae Bevels, and another precious great-grandchild expected in February 2027; and her special friends Mary Lee Rennie, Linda Hovis, Wanda Rutledge and her church family and friends at Kirkland Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, husband and grandson, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her brother, Howard Benton Lane, Jr.

Serving as pallbearers will be Corey Ballew, Wes Bevels, Branden Bevels, Robert Bevels, Andrew Fultz, and Todd Crabtree of Elkton, TN. Lincoln Fultz, Harrison Bevels, Grant Fultz, and Logan Ballew will serve as honorary pallbearers.
