Martha Ruth Hopper Ables 86 of Fayetteville died Monday December 7, 2009 in the comfort of her home. She was the daughter of the late Kelvie and Amy Spray.
Ms. Ables retired from Serbin Manufacturing Plant and worked for Sir’s Fabric Store for many years. She was a member of the Brogan Avenue Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter Nancy J. Strong of Slaughters, KY, two grandchildren Tina Strong Freeman of Fayetteville and Thomas Keith Strong of Chattanooga, TN; three great-grandchildren Thomas Hunter Freeman, Emily Rachael Freeman, and Audrey Elizabeth Freeman all of Fayetteville, TN; three sister-in-laws Ms. Linda Spray, Ms. Gracie Spray, and Ms. Laureen Spray all of Fayetteville/Lincoln County. Funeral services will be held Thursday December 10, 2009 at 11:00 am at Higgins Funeral Home in Fayetteville with visitation on Wednesday evening December 9, 2009 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm. Her nephew Rev. David Spray of Birmingham, AL will be officiating. Ms. Ables will be buried in Rose Hill Cemetery along side her late husband Robert Clark Hopper.
