Martha Lou Wallace

Funeral service for Mrs. Martha Lou Wallace, age 86, of Fayetteville TN, will be conducted at 1 PM on Monday, April 30, 2018 at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Andy Erwin officiating. Burial will follow in Higgins Cedar Hills Memorial Gardens, next to her husband Donald Wallace, who passed away on March 17, 2018.

Mrs. Wallace was born on July 29, 1931 in Lincoln County, Tennessee to the late William R. and Jessie Parker Bryant. Martha worked as a seamstress with Serbin and later with Lee Jeans Manufacturing. She was captain of her basketball team in school, made the best biscuits, and loved to sew clothing for her family and friends. You could often find Martha babysitting or hunting for a good bargain at yard sales and thrift stores. Mrs. Wallace passed away on April 27, 2018 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

Survivors include her daughters, Sandra Wallace (Mark) Long of Taft, TN and Brenda Wallace (Steve) Jefferson of Fayetteville, TN; grandchildren, Valerie Jefferson Cantrell, Amanda Jefferson Eslick, Meredith Ann Long, and Hunter Wallace (Leah) Long; great-grandchildren, Cordell Eslick, Cary Eslick, Cooper Eslick, and Addison Cantrell; a sister, Marie Bryant (the late Eldred) Tucker; brothers, Earl Mack (Billie Jo) Bryant, Bobby (the late Lanelle) Bryant, Rufus Bryant and Ronnie Bryant; and a sister-in-law, Aline (Kenneth) Green of Texas. In addition to her parents and husband, Martha was preceded in death by her siblings, Billy (Elsie Mae) Bryant and Rachael Bryant (Lynn) Whitaker.

Visitation with the family will be from 4 PM until 7 PM on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Higgins Funeral Home.

Aunt Lou was a beautiful example of being a wife and mother, and as an aunt, there was no one better. Her kindness and love defined Aunt Lou. ❤️

I saw her at a lot of yard sales. We didn’t know each other but we usually talked. So sorry for your loss

Mrs.Martha, was such a sweet dear lady , she was so kind-hearted, I worked with her at Lee Mfg. for years… So sorry for the loss of her, the family is in my thoughts and prayers, May GOD Bless you..
