Marjorie Daw Crabtree Stevenson

Funeral services for Mrs. Marjorie Daw Crabtree Stevenson (Margie) age 85, will be conducted Monday afternoon at 2 PM at Higgins Funeral Home. Mrs. Stevenson died August 13, 2010 at NHC Place in Franklin, surrounded by her loving nieces, nephews and best friend Grace Fairbanks.
Margie was born in Kelso Tennessee on November 2, 1924. She is preceded in death by her husband John W. Stevenson, parents Mattie S. and Monroe D. Crabtree, brother, William H. Crabtree Sr. (Bill). She is survived by her sister in-law Marian F. Crabtree of Franklin, her niece Cynthia Crabtree Lowery of Franklin, four nephews William Harrison Crabtree Jr. of Franklin, Robert F. Crabtree of Harvest, AL, Reaves M. Crabtree of Birmingham, AL, Richard D. Crabtree of Anniston, AL, 15 great nieces and nephews, nine great-great nieces and nephews and faithful companion and dog, Mac.
In 1942, after graduating from Lincoln County High School, Margie began her 55 year banking career as assistant cashier of People’s Bank of Kelso. She later joined Lincoln County Bank in Fayetteville and retired as Senior Vice President of Union National Bank, Fayetteville. She was the first female banking officer in the state of Tennessee.
Margie was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Associate Reform Presbyterian Church, Fayetteville. She served as Chairman of Memorials for the American Cancer Society and gave countless hours of her love and time to her church, family and community.
Visitation with the family will be Monday, August 16, 2010, from 12P-2P with funeral services beginning at 2 PM. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Associate Reform Presbyterian Church, Fayetteville or the American Cancer Society.
