Margaret Moorehead Cunningham

Funeral service for Mrs. Margaret Moorehead Cunningham, age 78, of Fayetteville, TN, will be conducted at 2 PM on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Black, Rev. Tommy Ward and Rev. Whitney Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in the Booneville Cemetery.

Mrs. Cunningham was born on February 14, 1940 in Lincoln County, TN to the late John and Jewel Sullivan Moorehead. She worked at Missile Command on Redstone Arsenal and was an artist. Margaret was very community oriented in raising funds for the American Heart Association and many other organizations in Lincoln County. Mrs. Cunningham was very instrumental in starting the Fayetteville – Lincoln County Animal Shelter. She loved traveling, gardening, serving the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church and working in the church kitchen. Mrs. Cunningham passed away on April 29, 2018 at NHC of Tullahoma.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Randy Cunningham; son, Doug (Sandy) Cunningham of Fayetteville; daughter, Cynthia Ann Hill of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Travis Hill of Nashville, Logan Hill of Fayetteville, Maggie Cunningham of Fayetteville, and Mollie Cunningham of Fayetteville; sister, Terri Moorehead Hicklen of Fayetteville; nephews, Stephen Hicklen, Joe Cunningham, Evan Cunningham; niece, Kristi Hall; and a brother-in-law, Bill (Sharon) Cunningham of Fayetteville.

Visitation with the family will be from 5 PM until 8 PM on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Higgins Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church, Building Fund, 200 Elk Avenue N., Fayetteville, TN 37334 or the Fayetteville – Lincoln County Animal Shelter, 1718 Pulaski Hwy, Fayetteville, TN 37334. Higgins Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Mrs. Margaret Moorehead Cunningham.

Margaret was a very sweet lady. I really enjoyed her when she would come in the store or when I saw her at Geralds or Walmart. Margaret was the same anywhere you saw her. So sorry for your families loss.
