Marcie Ainsworth

Marcie Ainsworth, resident of Sulphur Springs, passed away at her home on January 4, 2019 at the age of 86. She was a member of Shepherd’s Chapel.

She was born Martha Olive Halverson to her parents, Perry V. and Agnes Kristine (Mork) Halverson on October 28, 1932 in Havre, Montana, being named after her paternal grandmother who was born in Norway. She was the oldest of eight children.

Marcie was a 34 year member of FCE – Boonshill and served as President at one time. She was a volunteer with the Lincoln County Museum, where she was known for her Christmas displays, and a volunteer with ARC. Marcie learned braille making school books for blind children in California, donated to the School for the Blind and Visually Impaired in South Dakota, and she made wigs and hair pieces for Jackie Kennedy and movie stars in New York.

Marcie is predeceased by her parents; husband, retired U.S. Air Force Maj. James Ainsworth, Jr. in 1990; and six brothers and sisters. Survivors are her children, Larissa Reutgen of British Columbia, Canada and Larry Ainsworth of Sulphur Springs; sister, Sheila Oliver of Medical Lake, Washington; brother, Clifford Halverson of Las Vegas, Nevada; grandchildren; and many friends from coast to coast.

A cremation has occurred at Marcie’s request and no service is planned. A private burial of ashes next to her husband at Wright’s Cemetery, McBurg will be at a later date. Higgins Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Marcie Ainsworth.
