Lucille Evans Grammer

Funeral service for Mrs. Lucille Evans Grammer, age 87, or Fayetteville, TN will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Sunday May 6, 2018, at Higgins Funeral Home with Dr. Jon Hathcock officiating. Burial will follow in Lynchburg Cemetery next to her husband of 59 years, Fred Grammer.

Mrs. Grammer was born on June 11, 1930 in Moore County, TN to the late Collis and Annie B McGee Evans. She was retired from working at Jack Daniels Distillery and a member of Fayetteville First Baptist Church. Her greatest joy and happiness in life was spending time with her family. Mrs. Lucille passed away on May 2, 2018 at Lincoln Medical Center.

Survivors include her daughters, Judy Pierce of Lynchburg, TN and Sue Cary (Ray) Simmons of Fayetteville, TN; brother, Billy Joe (Gayle) Evans of Fayetteville, TN; grandson, Jason Evans (Lana) Groce of Fayetteville, TN; great-grandchildren, Logan Evans Groce and Allie Elizabeth Groce both of Fayetteville, TN; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death her sister Martha Ann Evans, and sons-in-law, Richie E. Pierce and Harold L. Cary.

Visitation with the family will be held 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at Higgins Funeral Home.

Lucille was very special to so many. She had the most wonderful smile. She is truly going to be missed. I am so thankful Sue that our grandchildren had the opportunity to know her & love her like they do. I know she rejoicing now with a whole new and healthy soul…no more pain or sickness & able to smile again. RIP Lucille , ( Nanny )
