Lt. Col. (Ret.) Thomas Walter Glazener

It is with regret that we announce the passing of Lt. Col. (Ret.) Thomas Walter Glazener, age 75, of Fayetteville, TN. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 PM on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Higgins Funeral Home.

Tom was born on January 14, 1944 in Transylvania County, NC to the late Walter and Mary Blanche Arrowood Glazener. He served active duty in the United States Army for 23 years before retiring. He graduated from Clemson University with a bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering and later the University of Florida with a master’s in Civil Engineering. He was a member of the Elks Lodge. Lt. Col. (Ret.) Glazener passed away on June 26, 2019 at Lincoln Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife, Connie Poor Glazener; daughters, Ginger (Ron) Demirjian of Madison, AL and Noel Glazener of Clarksville, TN; son, Hunt (Jennifer) Glazener of Kelso, TN; sister, Peggy (Larry) Browning of Etowah, NC; and grandchildren, Bradley, Thomas, and Jacquelyn Demirjian and Liza and Walter Glazener.

Memorials may be made to the Fayetteville, TN Elks Lodge 1792, for Veteran Programs or Nursing Scholarships, P.O. Box 837, Fayetteville, TN 37334.

You have been a blessing to your parents during this time. I know your Daddy has been a great influence on you. You have been a devoted daughter giving so much of yourself during his illness. Praying that the Lord gives you rest and assurance.

I never met Mr. Glazener but I do know his daughter, Noel. He must have been a special man to be part of the team that raised such a kind and generous woman. Thank you, Tom. Prayers for peace and comfort for the entire family.

Connie Mr Tom was one in a million…everybody loved him, especially me. He never met a stranger and was good to everybody. I think he’s in heaven with Mr Jack saying set em up! He will be missed by all. Prayers to you and the family. If you need me you know where I am Love you big!

Tom lived a full life taking everything in his stride. The sights he saw and the memories made hold dear to them sweet lady.
