Loraine McElroy

A beloved mother, daughter and sister — Henri Loraine McElroy was born into this world in Mulberry, Tennessee on June 28, 1960. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Henry Leon Sebastian and Mrs. Beatrice Sebastian. She departed this life at the age of 55 on September 22, 2015 at 12:00 P.M. at Saint Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.

Loraine grew up playing basketball for Mulberry Elementary School. Along with her family, she was also an avid member of Elm Street Church of Christ in Lynchburg. She graduated from Central High School and Motlow State Community College. As a military wife, Loraine was given an opportunity to travel the world and see many new places and meet many new faces. Her son, Anthony Jordale McElroy, was born in Wurzburg, Germany, and her youngest son, Trenton Durrell McElroy, was born in Fairbanks, Alaska. Loraine eventually moved back to Tennessee and settled down in Fayetteville. She took on a job at Arnold Airforce Base in Tullahoma, where she worked for over 20 years. Along with raising her two children, Loraine enjoyed singing and dancing. She was a kindred spirit who gave much more than she ever received. Her efficacious smile could light up a room. She leaves behind a memory that will be cherished and admired for all eternity.

Loraine is survived by her sister, Carol Sebastian of Fayetteville, Tennessee; two sons, Jordy and Trenton McElroy of Fayetteville Tennessee; an aunt, Susie Harden of Mulberry, Tennessee; an uncle, Marion Sebastian Jr. of Nashville, Tennessee; and a number of relatives and close friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 25, 2015 at 1 p.m. at the Elm Street Church of Christ in Lynchburg, TN. Visitation with the family will be Friday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Elm Street Church of Christ in Lynchburg, TN.

Heaven has gained a beautiful soul. I will always remember Loraine as someone who always had a smile and usually a story to tell when work got us together at Arnold AFB. And I don’t think she ever met a stranger. She was truly one of a kind.

I am sorry for your loss. It isn’t easy loosing a parent but she did a wonderful job raising you boys. She was very proud of you both and you were her light that made the twinkle in her eyes and that smile on her face. I was blessed to know her and I will never forget her.

Loraine,Wanda Frazier were very close friends for the 15 years I was working there we worked in the same building for about 5 years until Loraine took another job in another building. But I still talked to her every day on the phone and so did Wanda. ALL 3 of us went out to eat every friday. Wanda, Loraine and myself were best friends Lorizine was a joy to be around and I was blessed to be able to call her my friend. Her Wanda and myself all shared the same religion and we always had a great time when we were together. She was very devoted to her two sons. Even though I have been disabled since my wreck. Loraine will always be my friend. I just found out today and just can’t believe it. Love you Loraine and may God hold you in the Palm of his hand. Till we meet again dear friend.
