It is with regret that we announce the death of Mrs. Lona Jeanette Lingle Viering Shearer age 76, of Fayetteville. Mrs Shearer passed away Saturday morning at her residence.
A native of Harrisburg, PA, the daughter of the late Grant Thomas and Earnestine Shandelmeir Lingle, was was employed with Howard P. Foley Company as an office manger, and a member of the Prospect Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband William Shearer of Fayetteville, daughters Sharon Drawbaugh of Pennsylvania, Kathy Banik of San Antonio, Texas, son Robert W. Viering Jr. of Pennsylvania, brothers Michael Lingle of Chattanooga Tennessee, Thomas Grant Lingle and E. Bruce Cooper both of Pennsylvania, sister Joan Cooper of Virginia, 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Lona touched my heart with her sense of humor and her positive attitude. She had a determination and strong will to stay as independent as possible, in spite of her health battles. I am blessed to have known her and honored to have been one of her care providers. She was a favorite patient of mine. I will miss her very much.
