Lois Elmore Chaplin

It is with regret we announce the passing of Mrs. Lois Elmore Chaplin, age 89, of Fayetteville, TN. A funeral service will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, March 6, 2022, at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Ian Bloxham and Rev. Stan Mullins officiating. Burial will follow in Lincoln Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 1 pm to 3 pm on Sunday at Higgins.

Mrs. Chaplin was born June 20, 1932, in Lincoln County, TN to the late Albert Hargis and Amy Flora Meeks Elmore. She was a 1950 graduate of Blanche High School and a member of the Lincoln Baptist Church. Lois was a kindergarten teacher, she owned and operated Jean’s Florist, and she was a foster grandparent. Lois had a lifelong love for children and flowers and spent a great deal of time working with her flowers and in her garden. She passed away on March 3, 2022, at Covenant Manor.

Survivors include her children, Tony Chaplin (Sue Fallin) of Mississippi, Jeff Chaplin (Dr. Stacey Pace) of Fayetteville, and Stacy (Keith) Houk of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Sam (Ivan) Markov, Joe Houk (fiancé), Elizabeth Chaplin (Josh) Martin, Victoria Chaplin, Stephen Chaplin (fiancé Gabi), Theron Chaplin; great-grandchildren, Asen Markov, and Gillean Markov; siblings, Ellen Freeland, Billie Rowell, Linda Childers, and Tim Elmore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie LeRoy Chaplin; and sister, Sue Higgins.

Memorial donations may be made to Lincoln Baptist Church VBS Fund, 267 Lincoln Road, Fayetteville, TN 37334, or The American Heart Association, 10 Glenlake Pkwy NE South Tower, Suite 400, Atlanta, GA 30328.

A very kind lady who took time for others. We had some fantastic roadtrips in her van and those captain chairs. God bless you, her precious family.

Lois was a wonderful person I finished High School with Lois in 1950 Lois worked so hard
planning all our Class Reunions through the 69th reunion.
