Lois Dean Smith Hughes passed from this life into her new life with her Lord and family in Heaven. Lois was preceded in death by her husband William T. Hughes, two sons Lannie Hughes and Dannie Hughes, granddaughter Donna Ellard, her parents Herman and Lena Smith, brother Ellis Smith, sisters Robbie Reed, Edith Brewer and Glynden Hall. Survivors include son Duane Hughes (Penny), daughter Rhonda Cooley, (Ken), grandchildren Laura Bonn, Jennifer Valera, Eric Hughes, Dustin Mathias, ten great grandchildren, brother Robert M. Smith, sisters Brice Tucker, Thelma Shaneyfelt, many nieces and nephews. Lois was a member of the Church of Christ.
Funeral service will be conducted Sunday, July 10, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Schaneyfelt officiating. Burial will follow in Wright’s Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Sunday, July 10, 2016 from 12 until 2 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home.

We mourn the passing of sister Hughes with you. She will be missed at The East Huntsville Church of Christ.
