Funeral service for Laura Elizabeth Abbott Higgs, age 91, of Nashville, TN, will be conducted Friday, November 18, 2016 at 1p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Tom Boyette officiating. Burial will follow in Wright’s Cemetery. Mrs. Higgs passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at her home.
Mrs. Higgs was a native of Red Oak, TN, the daughter of the late Leonard and Bessie Abbott. She was a homemaker and a member of the Pennington Bend Church of Christ.
Survivors include her son Mike (Menda) Higgs, granddaughter Michelle Morgan, great grandchildren Alicia Morgan, Richard (Ashley) Morgan, brothers Robert “Bob” (Trudy) Abbott and Rabun “Jim” (Rachel) Abbott. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Willie Lee Higgs, son Leonard “Barry” Higgs, brother Vaughn Abbott and sister Bessie Ruth Jones.
Visitation with the family will be Thursday, November 17, 2016 from 5 until 9 p.m. and Friday, November 18, 2016 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
