Larry Wayne Bevels

Graveside funeral service for Larry Wayne Bevels, age 76 of Fayetteville, will be conducted at 2pm on Friday, October 9, at Gatlin Cemetery with Bro. Van Sprague officiating. Visitation with the family will be Friday, October 9 from 11am-1pm at Higgins Funeral Home.

Mr. Bevels passed away on October 5, 2020 at Maury Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 10, 1944 in Lincoln County, TN to the late Thomas Jenkins and Lillian Cornellious Rollins Bevels.

Larry was a heavy equipment operator until his retirement. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Larry loved UT football, fishing, and Rock n Roll bands, especially the Rhythm Aces. He was an avid supporter of the NRA (National Rifle Association). Larry was a member of the Washington Street Church of Christ.

He is survived by his daughters, Candice (Jamie) Robinson of Fayetteville, Debbie (James) Mason of Taft, and Cindy (Mark) Ballew of Taft; son, Chris (Robin) Bevels of Taft; step-sons, Jamie Casteel and Jason Casteel both of Fayetteville, TN; brother, Paul (Amy Ann) Bevels of Fayetteville; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Katherine Bevels.

Sorry Candice. To lose a father is tough. To lose both parents like you have is much tougher. You were a great daughter to him.

Jamie, Jason Casteel, and Candance Robinson, I’m so sorry for the loss of your dad, Larry Bevels. He is in no more pain and isn’t suffering any longer. He is now celebrating with your mom and his parents. They are having a joyful reunion. You all will be in my thoughts and prayers.
