Lanelle Counts

Funeral service for Mrs. Sara Lanelle Counts, age 82, of Fayetteville, TN will be conducted at 4 PM on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at Higgins Funeral Home. Bro. James West and Bro. Chris Jones will officiate. Visitation with the family will be from 2 PM until 4 PM on Sunday at Higgins Funeral Home.

Lanelle was born on August 17, 1936 in Lincoln County, Tennessee to the late Brince Waid and Veda Luna Waid. She worked as a payroll clerk with Serbin, then was the payroll supervisor with Scovill Manufacturing. When Scovill left Lincoln County, Lanelle kept her roots at home in Fayetteville, working with Amana. She retired in 2001 in Quality Control from Teledyne Brown in Lewisburg, TN. Mrs. Counts was a member of the Mimosa Church of Christ. Lanelle passed away on July 4, 2019 at her residence.

Survivors include her daughter, Waidene Counts-Bonner of Fayetteville; grandson, Brince Waid Bonner of Fayetteville; granddaughter, Alexis Sydney “Lexi” Reese and her mother, Terri Reese; brother, Michael Counts; and a sister, Paulette Matteson. In addition to her parents, Lanelle was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Counts; daughter, Cammie Lanette Counts; and a son, Andrew “Andy” Brince Counts.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, Cary B Sullivan, Lincoln County Tribute Chair, PO Box 470, Fayetteville, TN 37334.

To the Count’s Family. I am so sorry about Lanelle being so sick, I know she is in a better place and not suffering any more. We went to school together and reconnected after all those years and enjoyed eating at Senior Citizens together. We will miss her and her watching the Rook bunch, she played some too.

Waidene, I’m so sorry to hear of Lanelle’s passing. It has been a long and difficult struggle for her and is now over.
