Jennifer and family,

I was so sorry to learn of Wayne’s death. You have both always been so kind and sweet to me and members of my family. I will remember Wayne as a person who always took the time to speak no matter how busy or pre-occupied he might have been. Know that you and your family are in my prayers at this sad time in your lives.

I am so sad to hear about the death of Wayne. He was always so kind and sweet and stopped to speak to us whenever we were visiting at Washington Street. He was always so kind to Daddy (Doug Mitchell) and helped Daddy out by driving the bus for the Heart Walk. Our sympathy to his entire family. We will be missed around Washington Street Church.

You look back on memories you forgot you had,
And at times you’ll smile even though it hurts so bad.

Your Father is a special man and no one can take his place,
You’ll find a piece of mind when you remember his smiling face.

Your father is an angel now he flies high above the rest,
and in your hearts always and forever he will be the best.

He has earned his wings and it’s time for him to fly,
I know it hurts no one is ever ready to say good-bye.

He knows you do not understand and that you cry at night,
But as you finally drift of to sleep let his memory hold you tight.

He will be your guardian angel through the rest of your life,
Helping lead you on the path between what’s wrong and right.

Your Father loves you so very much and his love will always remain true,
Please don’t ever think for a second that your father will forget you.

A fathers love is like no other in the whole world,
He has the most wonderful memories of a little boy and girl.

He has taken them with him as he’s flown away,
Up to Heaven free of pain which is his new home to stay.

So although you can not see him and you wish he could be there,
Your father can always hear you and your father will always care.

A father does not forget the two greatest loves of his life,
And he loved nothing more than being your father, and your mother’s husband.

He is so proud of his family and that’s in his heart to stay,
Even though he’s an angel and has had to fly away.

So as you cry your tears remember your fathers love,
Being sent to you from him, from the beautiful Heaven above.

He will be there through your good times, he will be there through your bad,
He’ll be there when you are happy, he’ll be there when your sad.

Your father has become an angel now, it is his time to fly,
And you will never know how bad it hurt me to watch you have to say good-bye.

Everyday things happen, sometimes we can understand them and sometimes we can’t. The one thing that is for sure is that no two Christians will ever meet for the last time. I can understand that and I look forward to seeing Wayne again! My prayer for your family today is that the light of God surround you, the love of God enfold you, the power of God protect you, and the presence of God watch over you.

We nerver spent that much time together but we were family always. Your sister Becky was a special person to me as was Uncle KT and Aunt Kay. I wish there were great things I could say about you and I, but I don’t see those. However you as a Husband, Father and GrandFather go beyond explanation. the world is a better place because of you. I am sure your decedents will pick up on this and continue to move forward.

Thank you for being a part of my life.

God Bless and Keep.

Your name and deeds will keep forv=ever.

Love Gene Smith
