Graveside service for Kenneth Wayne Thorpe, age 84, of Frankewing, TN will be held at 2pm on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at Storey Cemetery with Rev. John Sanders officiating. There will be no visitation with the family prior to the service.
Wayne was born January 18, 1939, in Lincoln County, TN to the late Joe and Sallie Ed Cunningham Thorpe. He operated a spreader for Lincoln Paving for many years and was of the Methodist faith. Wayne was a veteran of the US Army and was stationed at Ft. Carson in Colorado. A hard worker from a young age he enjoyed working in his garden, raising cattle, fishing, and reading. Wayne also spent a lot of time at “The Barn” in Hot Rock with his friends. He passed away May 24, 2023, at Southern Tennessee Regional Hospital in Pulaski, TN.
Survivors include his sisters, Jean Wright of Gallatin, Faye Harwell of Frankewing, and Martha Thorpe of Dellrose; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his brothers, Joe Ed Thorpe, Dick W. Thorpe, Douglas Thorpe; and sister, Ann Ables.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Storey Cemetery, c/o Grady Storey, 871 Loyd Road, Pulaski, TN 38478.

Such a great man. He was always on his front porch with a book in one hand and a bag of chips in the other. He loved his potato chips while he was reading. Both him and Faye were great neighbors during the time I lived in Frankewing. Heaven just gained another Angel. RiP
