Katrena Faye Eslick, age 87, of Fayetteville, TN, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 31, 2026, at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, TN.
Faye was born on September 23, 1938, in Lincoln County, TN, to the late Edwin Clyde Sheffield and Vera Stacy Sheffield. She was a 1956 graduate of Blanche High School. Early in life, she worked for Serbin, Eagle Snacks, and the Best Western, and later shared her warm spirit as a volunteer in the Gift Shop at Lincoln Medical Center.
On April 17, 1958, she married the love of her life, Franklin Delano Eslick. Together, they shared 58 beautiful years of marriage before his passing in 2016.
Faye’s heart was firmly anchored in her faith, her family, and her love of sports. A lifelong, devoted member of the Prosperity Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, she lived her life with a servant’s heart. Her greatest joy, however, was her family. She dedicated her life to being a full-time “Meemaw,” rarely missing a game for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. When she wasn’t cheering them on, she was passionately rooting for her beloved Atlanta Braves and the Tennessee Volunteers.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Faye was preceded in death by her siblings, Ruby Gentry, Hazel Brown, Dot Neal, and Melba Haislip; and her son-in-law, Bill Carter, Jr.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion in her surviving family: her children, Tommy (Tara) Eslick and Janet (Jim) Scott all of Fayetteville; her cherished grandchildren, Brittney Carter, Morgan (Jason) Terry, Jacob Eslick, Wesley Smith, and Livi Eslick; her great-grandchildren, Addison Mitchell, Carter Ann Mitchell, Bubba Mitchell, Aurora Simmons, L.J. Terry, and Shiloh Simmons; and sisters-in-law, Shirley Creson, and Martha Faulkner; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at Carter Hills Cemetery, with Rev. Jeremiah Thomas and Rev. Dana Crowell officiating. There will be no visitation prior to the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Prosperity ARP Church,19 Prosperity Church Road, Taft, TN, 38488; Prosperity Cemetery, c/o Shannon Cornwell, 138 Red Hill Road, Taft, TN 38488, or the Carter Hills Cemetery, c/o Mary Carter, 23 Alex Carter Road, Taft, TN 38488.
Higgins Funeral Home is privileged to serve and offer comfort, care, and support to the family of Katrena Faye Eslick.
