I was very fortunate to have Mrs. Parsons as my 4th grade teacher. As an adult I look back on that time and recall so many wonderful memories from that year. Bill and Jared, you are in my thought and prayers. She was truly a special lady. I was blessed to know her.

Bill and Jared, Don and Christine,
I am so sad to learn about Karen’s passing. While we can rejoice that she is no longer having to deal with a terrible physical illness and pain, our pain of going on with life without her is so very real and deep. I know that God will be blessing you with His love and comfort through the weeks and months ahead. Know that my love and my thoughts are right there with all of you even though I cannot be present with you.

To Karen’s family, I am so sorry for the loss of your daughter, wife and mother. We went to school together and she was always a very sweet person. We missed her at the reunion and thought about her, wishing her well. I would have liked to been able to attend her service, but regretably will not be able to come. You are all in my prayers. She is resting peacefully in the arms of God and is not suffering.

My daughter and I were both fortunant enough to have had the pleasure of being taught by Mrs. Parsons. I had her when I was in the second grade at Highland Rim, must have been when she first began teaching because she still looked as beautiful when my daughter had her at South Lincoln in the 1st grade. She was beautiful on the inside and out and this world will be less one terrific teacher and friend!! you will all be in my prayers!

I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to know Mrs. Parsons as she was a fellow educator with my mother. I also was Jared’s tutor in Math many moons ago. I enjoyed her zeal for life and wanting all children to succeed. She will be missed by all that she touched. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Passing Friend

My heart sank low this morning, when I first heard the news,
someone that I used to know had left us quite too soon.

For me, it’s been four decades, since I saw your smiling face.
The memories of our High School years, through my mind they race.

Your family feels the warmth around them and your presence is still clear.
They close their eyes, they visualize, your smile when you were here.

Remembering times together has a permanent place inside their heart,
And as long as they are in this life, those memories will not depart.

Your family is weeping, quietly weeping, sad but not alone,
They realize your sleep is sweet, that God has called you home.

My prayers are for your family, your husband and your son,
That peace they find, in loving thought, that your suffering is done.
