Memorial services for Julia Belew Phillips, age 72, of Fayetteville will be conducted Wednesday at 2 PM at Higgins Funeral Home. Mrs. Phillips passed away Monday at her residence.
She was a native of Lexington, TN and the daughter of the late Eugene and Lois Wade Belew. Mrs. Phillips was owner and operator of the Snooty Fox and a member of the Park City Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband James Phillips of Fayetteville, children Craig E. Goodloe and wife Marci of Ball Ground, GA, Regina Nobrega of Madison, AL, and Mike Phillips and wife Laura of Huntsville, AL, grandchildren Elicia Goodloe, Clara Goodloe Harrell, Kyle Goodloe, Hunter Goodloe, Andrew Phillips, Michelle Phillips, Zachary Nobrega, brothers and sisters, Barbara Maness, Robert Belew, Phil Belew and Ginny Kmak and numerous friends. Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by son Robert A. Goodloe Jr.
Visitation with the family will be Wednesday from 12PM-2PM at Higgins Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Hope Lodge, 2008 Charlotte Avenue, Nashville, TN 37203.

I remember Judy when she was a young girl growing up in Lexington. Her sister, Barbara, is one of my very special friends, and my heart goes out to Barb and all of you for the loss of Judy. Judy was a fighter and I greatly admired her spirit. My sympathy goes out to all of the family and you will certainly be in my prayers.

Mr. Phillips,
I am so sorry to hear of Julia’s passing. I did not even know she was sick. I moved to Georgia in March and lost touch. I don’t know if you remember me or not but I used to wait on her at First National Bank for many years and became friends right away. She will be truely missed.

Dear Barbara, Robert Wade, Phil, and Ginny,
I am saddened to learn of Judy’s death. I remember her smile and her cheerful personality with a great deal of pleasure. Although I have not seen any of you in a long time, I also remember our days in Lexington, and all of you being “in and out” of Eddie’s home so near to where I grew up.
I am thinking of you and sending my sympathy during this time. Everyone who knew Judy shares your loss.

I am so sorry to hear that Judy lost her battle. She is now resting in peace knowing that she was an inspiration to all who knew her. My heart goes out to her husband and children that sadly I never had an opportunity to know. Barbara, Robert Wade, Phil and Ginny are all in my prayers. Judy was always friendly, caring, outgoing and incredibly strong. It was a privilege to be her friend when we were growing up.

Mrs. Julia was a wonderful woman, as I am sure you already know! She was so great to our family. She was a very special lady to us. She always had a kind, comforting, and uplifting word for us. We loved her, and we will miss her. God bless you all with her memories.

Snoots always made me smile. Even after she was so sick she could brighten my day. I have some wonderful memories and some advice from her that I live by daily. I know your heart is broken as is mine but she would want us to look back on those great memories and remember her telling us “everything is gonna be okay”. I love you Jim, may God bless you and the rest of the family.

Judy was pretty much my second mom.
I met her through her late son Robert Goodloe.
There is nowhere to begin expressing my sadness of her passing, unable to attend her services, and simply just remembering and mentioning the memories.
She was as available as distance could be when my mother passed last June.
She indeed was a Wonderful, Cheerful, and Classy Lady.
Snooty Fox…. I will mention this one memory –
When I was 16 years old, visiting some little girls on Delashment Road, Robert drove pass in the green Monte Carlo. I saw him drive by with a “blonde chick” in the passenger seat. Of course being the 16-year goof-ball I was, I immediately chased after him in a show-off type of driving. I pulled to his right side of the car (Yes, not much room on the right side of the two-lane road) to flip Robert a one-handed gesture of Hello.
As I soon became aware, looking through the passenger side window, Robert was in the background at the wheel frantically waving his arms communicating in a worried “be cool” warning.
This is when I first met Judy; the blonde chick was Robert’s mother. Robert was learning to drive with his Learner’s Permit.
She thought I was nuts but, this was the beginning of a long and great relationship.
