John Joseph Smith

With great sadness and great love, the family of Mr. John Joseph Smith, age 65, of Flintville, TN, will have a Memorial Service at 3:00 PM on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at Higgins Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be held Saturday from 12:00 PM until 3:00 PM.

Mr. Smith was born on September 12, 1952 in Philadelphia, PA to the incredible John R. and Phyllis Kramer Smith. His unwavering love and devotion he had for his family and friends will be cherished always. He was dedicated to making the impossible happen at Franke for 47 years and worked tirelessly to support his community. John impacted the lives of everyone around him and we are all honored to have been part of his life. He was a supporter of REACH Autism Awareness and a Trustee for Motlow State Community College. Mr. Smith passed away on April 23, 2018 knowing how loved he was.

Survivors include his wife, Debra McClellan Smith; children, David Michael (Lisa) Smith of Perkasie, PA, Amanda Marie Smith (William Cary Richard) of Tullahoma, TN, Michael John Smith (Ericka Clemmons) of Louisville, KY, Nicole Elizabeth (Wyatt) Shaw of Clarksville, TN, Amanda Nicole (William) Eslick of Fayetteville, TN, and Emmylou (Brent) Porter of Fayetteville, TN; grandchildren, Mia Smith, Allie Smith, Kyle Fisher, Naiya Quinlan, Cruz Caldwell, Raina Smith, Jasmine Buckles, Roman Shaw, David Eslick, Eli Eslick, Ben Porter, and Owen Porter; mother-in-law, Betty Clark “Mema” of Flintville, TN; siblings, Phyllis Anne Smith (Gerald) Logan of Philadelphia, PA, Mary Anne Baird of Davis, CA, Carol Burns of Warrington, PA, Roy C. (Marilyn) Smith of Warrington, PA, and Andrew J. (Cindy) Smith of Williamsburg, PA; brother and sisters-in–law, Michial (Paula) McClellan, Jim (Mary Ann) McClellan, John (Susanna) McClellan and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beautiful daughter, Donna Michele Smith Fisher, who is missed and loved dearly.

I have been truly blessed to have had the opportunity to have gotten to work with John for many many years. He is my mentor , he believed in me and gave me the opportunity to be my best , He will continue to be my motivation as he has always been! My cousin Johnny as i called him – Spent many summers in Pa and NJ as kids swimming . playing and growing up – We haven’t seen each other in awhile but I will always remember him as my fun cousin- Rest in Peace Johnny
