Funeral service for Mr. John Ewin “J.E.” Towry, Jr., age 84, of Fayetteville, TN, will be conducted at 10 AM on Saturday, September 1, 2018, at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Ben Renegar and Bro. Richard McWilliams officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Towry was born on February, 12, 1934 in Fayetteville, TN to the late Mary Julia McAlister Towry and John Ewin Towry, Sr. He retired from International Comfort Products in Lewisburg, TN. He was a member of Wells Hill Church of Christ. Mr. Towry passed away on August 29, 2018 at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Foy Towry; children, Jeff and wife Pam Towry of Fayetteville, TN, Patti Washburn of Tuscaloosa, AL, Mary Sue and husband Keith Jones of Taft, TN, and Kelly Towry of Brooklyn, NY; grandchildren, Drew and wife Jessica Hendrix of Ardmore, AL, Jerianne and husband Matthew Paul of Jonesborough, TN, Jake Washburn of Memphis, TN, and Luke Washburn of Murfreesboro, TN; great-grandchildren, Kirin and Aisling Paul and Gunner and Jackson Hendrix; sisters, Ruth T. Jennings and Patsy T. Monks both of Fayetteville, TN; brother-in-law, Larry D. Foy of Chattanooga, TN; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul and Bill Towry; and sister, Anita T. Cowley.
Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, August 31, 2018, at 5 PM until 8 PM at Higgins Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crossroads Pregnancy Clinic at PO Box 777, Fayetteville, TN 37334 or online at www.crossroadspregnancyclinic.org/je-towry.

So so very sorry. It is a very sad time to lost someone we have loved all our lives. Time does not favor anyone, if it did, we would never let go, but God know best, so therefore we know all our days are numbered, but we are never ready.
