Joey Mark Locker, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully surrounded by those that loved him at the age of 66. He was a devoted member of the Howell Cumberland Presbyterian Church and cherished his family above all.
Joey was born in Fayetteville, TN to the late Joe and Gracie Locker and was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Lela Locker and Alvie and Pearl Sharpe. He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 48 years, Fran Cummins Locker; children Will and Kerri Locker, Sheley and Chad Cowley; and his cherished grandchildren Andy Locker, Paisley Cowley, Ben Locker, Hudson Cowley, Brody and Makenzie Grimes, and his beloved “hound”, Maverick.
Joey dedicated over 20 years to his work at Murfreesboro Pure Milk and served as manager at Holiday Landing and Blue Gill Grill. He had a passion for fishing, enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in sports, and loved tuning in to “The Beverly Hillbillies” and “The Andy Griffith Show.” He also enjoyed participating in the Fabulous Fifties Show, where he brought joy and laughter to many through his performances.
A service to honor his life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Higgins Funeral Home, officiated by “The Reverend” Todd Gaskill. A life well lived albeit too short! Joey loved his family and friends fiercely. He reminded me so much of his Grandmother Lela. Never met a stranger and his quick wit served him well his whole life. My sincere condolences to his entire family and host of friends. Remember all the good times as he would have you do! It was my honor to know him.

Great friend, classmate, team mate and brother. We rode every road in Lincoln county on our motorcycles. When we ran out of roads we made our own in the woods. Never forgotten.
