Joe Wayne Roper

Funeral service for Mr. Joe Wayne Roper age 65, of Fayetteville, will be conducted Tuesday June 7, 2016 at 11 a.m. Higgins Funeral Home, with Rev. Don Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Wright’s Cemetery. Mr. Roper passed away June 4, 2016 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A native of Lincoln County, TN, he was the son of the late Onus and Darrine Spray Roper. He was employed by Goodman Manufacturing for 36 years. He loved fishing, farming, canning, cooking BBQ and country hams. He loved spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife Lulu Ailene “Doll” Roper, daughters Angela (William) Fuqua, Jolynn (Anthoney Clemons) Roper, step-son Cody (Dewayna) Collins, grandchildren Aaron Hadley, Aaden Fuqua, Eric Collins, Whitney Patterson, Eddie Wayne Cannon, special friends Joe and Jan McCown, brother David Roper, sister Debbie Marshall, 5 great grandchildren all of Fayetteville, and a host of other extended family and friends.

Visitation with the family will be Monday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home.

Fond memories of a school friend from first thru high school. Playing together an getting into trouble as well. Will be greatly missed. God Blessing and prayers to your family.

Joe was a great friend who helped us immensely when we arrived here. He taught me how to correctly cut a ham, how to cook a ham, helped in our store at Christmas, and was just a blessing to us when we needed it most.

His friendship will be sorely missed.

I really liked Mr. Joe. He worked with Daddy many years at Amana. He was always sweet to me. My thoughts are with all his family..God Bless.

Joe will truly be missed. I remember him visiting my Granny Ables and Aunt Polly so many times, sitting and talking and always being so kind to all of us. Such a sweet man. RIP.

I am so sorry for the loss of Joe. Just saw him last week when he came to the funeral home for momma’s visitation. I thought alot of Joe. Know him for many years. You will be in my prayers.

Joe was a special kind of person. I worked with him at Amana and he’s cut many a slice of country ham for my Mother. My Mother loved Joe. I know he will be missed by many. God bless!
