Joe David Wagster

Funeral service for Mr. Joe David Wagster, age 76, of Fayetteville, TN will be conducted on Friday, October 20, 2017, at 1 PM at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Whitney Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. Wagster passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at his residence.

Mr. Wagster was a native of Lincoln County, TN and son of the late Joe Holly and Alice Collier Wagster. He was retired from Copperweld and a member of the Elks Lodge. He was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Wagster; loving Yorkie dog, Sassie; daughter, Holly Wagster; son, Jeff (Becky) Wagster; sister, Judy (Toonie) Toon, all of Fayetteville, TN: brother, Philip (Diane) Wagster of Murfreesboro, TN; granddaughters, Allie and Lexie Wagster of Fayetteville, TN, and Ashley (Curtis) McDow and great-grandchildren, Brynlea Selby and Leo McDow of Hazel Green, AL; Aunt and Uncle, Joe and Imogene Collier; and a host of friends too many to name. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ellen Wagster.

Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, October 20, 2017, from 11 AM until time of service at 1 PM at Higgins Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church at 200 Elk Ave N, Fayetteville, TN 37334; the American Cancer Society at ATTN: Cary B. Sullivan, Lincoln County Tribute Chair, American Cancer Society PO Box 470, Fayetteville, TN 37334; or Fayetteville Elks Lodge at 1750 Wilson Pkwy, Fayetteville, TN 37334.

My sincere condolences to Joe David’s family. He was a high school classmate of mine. He was a good person and will be greatly missed by family, friends and all those who knew him.
