Joe David Street

Funeral service for Joe David Street, age 77, of Kelso, TN will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie Clardy officiating. Burial will follow in the Campbell Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5 PM until 8 PM on Tuesday at Higgins Funeral Home.

Joe was born on January 22, 1944, in Fayetteville, TN to the late John Wilson and Edna Ozell Street. He worked at Goodman for 35 years and retired in 2007. Mr. Street loved life! Joe had many talents and hobbies, including hunting, fishing with his son, singing, and playing his guitar. After his retirement, he could often be found in his woodshop, building, and making things. Mr. Street devoted his life to the Lord, and he faithfully attended and was a member of the Hayes Chapel Baptist Church in New Market, AL. Joe passed away on January 15, 2022, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.

Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Joyce Walden Street; children, Melissa (Ronnie) Kimbrough, Joey (Kim) Street, Judy (Dennis) Allen, Mark (Tammy) Yell; grandchildren, Danielle (John) Powell, David (Cassie) Street, Candice Jordan, Ashton Street, Chris (Cindell) Kimbrough, Kelci Kimbrough, Jessica Kerbo, Jonathan (Pam) Allen, Chelsea (Brandon) Hicks, Joseph Yell, Jamie Yell, and Hunter Griffin; 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Janice (Ray) Campbell; brothers, Jimmy (Laverne) Street, Robert (Debbie) Street, Johnny (Martha) Street; and numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his sisters, Elizabeth Miller, Doris Ellis, JoAnn Cannon, Glenda Vaughn; brothers, Donald Street, and three baby brothers; nieces, Tammy Cannon, Donna Barnett, and Dena Holt; and nephew, Jason Street.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Memorial Processing, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.

We met Joe and Joyce in 2016. They are our beloved neighbors. Joe will be missed greatly we hold him and his family in prayer at this time.

Joe will truly be missed !! After he retired, Joe.would call mine house and tell me he was calling from Goodman to tell me to come in to work. Then he would just laugh. I loved working with Joe and Joyce.I know Joyce will missed her soulmate dearly. Prayers for the family!!!

To all if Joe’s family it’s with a heavy heart that I say im sorry for your loss.
Joe’s has always been apart of my family since my sister married his brother.
Joe was a fine man in and out and I’m so proud to have known him.I know you are dancing and singing with the angels rest in peace Joe.
