Funeral service for Jimmy Joe Childress, age 67, of Fayetteville will be conducted Wednesday at 11AM at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Higgins Cedar Hills Memorial Gardens. Mr. Childress passed away Monday morning in Huntsville Hospital.
A native of Lincoln County, the son of the late James Orville and Willie Lou Parks Childress, retired from O’Reiley Automotive and attended the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife Beverly Childress of Fayetteville, daughters Amanda Woodward and husband Corey of Meridianville, AL, Melanie Patterson and husband James of Murfreesboro, and Denise Towry and husband Mike of Fayetteville, brother Jacky Childress and wife Debbie of Fayetteville, 9 grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Mr. Childress was preceded in death by a daughter Tracie Childress White and brother Jerry Childress.
Visitation with the family will be Tuesday evening from 5-8 PM at Higgins Funeral Home.
