Graveside service for Jimmy Clay Johnson, age 78, of Fayetteville, TN will be held at 1 PM on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Rose Hill Cemetery with Bro. Mike Johnson Officiating. There will be no visitation prior to the graveside service.
Jimmy was born on March 10, 1942 in Fayetteville to the late J.W. “Bill” and Ola Thomas Johnson. He loved old cars, trucks and black powder pistols. Mr. Johnson enjoyed spending time with his family and was a member of the West End Baptist Church. Jimmy passed away on January 10, 2021.
Survivors include his wife, Lee Ann Hall Johnson; children, Lisa Ann (Debbie) Dennis-Harwell of Jolten, Chris (Jennifer) Johnson of Petersburg, Adam (Lisa) Johnson of Fayetteville, Jamie (Jamie) Johnson of Fayetteville, Chad (Melissa) Whitmore of Tullahoma, Ken (Stacy) Whitmore of Tullahoma, Chase (Lisa) McBay of Huntsville; grandchildren, Ben Harwell, Joshua Johnson, Megan (Troy Lee) Newgent, Katie Whitmore, Trey (Brittney) Whitmore, Courtney Posey, and Kelsey Posey, four great-grandchildren, brother, Martin (Diane) Johnson, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his siblings, Robert Steelman, Dot Richardson, Joe Dan Johnson, Frankie Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Attn.: Cary Sullivan, P.O. Box 470, Fayetteville, TN 37334.

You were a kind and gentle man, loved hard, loved tough when you needed to. Everyone who knew you were blessed to have you in their lives. You were kind to Dennis and I when you didn’t have to be. We enjoyed your company, loved the ballgames you came to when Chase was playing you always made them more fun. Chase is the man he is today because of the love and guidance that you and his dad gave to him growing up. You will always be special in our hearts and you will be missed by those who loved you dearly. Watch over them as an angel in Heaven.
