Jewell Johnson West

Funeral service for Mrs. Jewell Johnson West, age 102, of Fayetteville, will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, February 22, 2016 at Higgins Funeral Home, with Bro. David Sain officiating. Burial will follow beside her husband James West Sr., in Wrights Cemetery. Mrs. West passed away February 20, 2016 at Lincoln Care Center.
A native of Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late William Madison and Ada Lee Trentham Johnson, worked for many years at Serbin and retired from Jonathan Logan. Mrs West was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include children William Cooper “Billy” West, Ada Ruth (Wyndell) Goatz, James Robert “Bobby” (Rita Hill) West, Jr., Frances Jane West Quick, JoAnn West Porter; 16 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. West is preceded in death by her husband James West Sr.; daughter in-laws Mary West and Norma Dean West; son-in-laws Leon Porter and B.W. Quick; and one granddaughter Donna Shockley.
Visitation with the family will be 5-8 p.m. Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Higgins Funeral Home. Active pallbearers will be James Larry West, Mathew Blake West, Benny Wayne Quick, Robert Dean West, Jonathan Ryan Means, and David Heath Shockley.
