Funeral services for Mrs. Jewell Hall Bennett, age 86, of Taft will be conducted at 11 AM Friday at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Van Johnson officiating.  Burial will follow in Kirkland Cemetery.  Mrs. Bennett passed away Tuesday morning at Lincoln Medical Center.

A daughter of the late Lossie and Finetta Thompson Hall, she was a native of Lincoln County, formerly employed at Redstone with 27 years service, a homemaker, a member of Taft/Blanche Homemakers Club, helped with the Meals on Wheels program, a Sunday School teacher, a leader of the WMU in various churches in Lincoln County, lived on Scott Orchard Rd. for 57 years, and a member of First Baptist Church, Fayetteville.

Survivors include her daughters, Joyce Giffin of West Palm Beach, FL and Wanda Southererland of Taft, son Joe Paul Bennett of Park City, grandchildren Duane Southerland, Kathryn Southerland, Laura Miller, and Nathan Giffin, great-grandchildren Dalton Southerland, Mason Southerland, and Connor Giffin, step-great-granddaughter Brenda Juarez, brothers Edward Hall of Athens and Bill Hall of Fayetteville,  sisters Ramona Mercer of Jackson and Doris Diven of Punta Gorda, FL.

Visitation with the family will be from 2-8 PM Thursday at Higgins Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Cerebral Palsy Foundation or the American Chrohn’s & Illiatis Foundation.
