Jewel Cowley Wilkerson

Funeral service for Mrs. Jewel Cowley Wilkerson, age 97, of Fayetteville, will be conducted Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Wilkerson passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2016.

Mrs.Wilkerson was a native of Lincoln County, the daughter of the late William Blake and Mary Gault Cowley. She was a seamstress for Serbin and a member of the Liberty Church of Christ.

Survivors include daughters Betty Stuart, Lyndal (Roy) LeCrone, Sue Donaldson all of Fayetteville, son Blake (Betty) Wilkerson of Fayetteville, 4 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren, 1 nephew and several great nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Newell Wilkerson, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Visitation with the family will be conducted Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home.

So sorry for your loss. Ms. Wilkerson was a beautiful Christian lady and brought my grandmother so much joy. She will always have a special place in our hearts. We loved her and will truly miss her. Betty, Lyndal Sue, Blake and families,

My sincere sympathy for the loss of Ms. Jewel, she was the sweetest lady. I loved and adored her. She was always waiting for that hug and kiss. She loved everyone she came in contact with. I am sorry i wont be able to attend the visitation and funeral, I have to work on Saturdays, but know your all in my thoughts and prayers. Betty, know how much Matthew and I love you, and will be thinking of you all.

I certainly was saddened by Ms. Jewel’s death. I loved to visit her when she was at in the nursing home. We enjoyed talking about Lincoln, and all of her children and my family. You are in my thoughts and prayers. She was a special lady , and I will miss seeing her each month.
