Jessie Jewel Moorehead

 

Funeral services for Jessie Jewel Moorehead, age 91 of Fayetteville, will be conducted Thursday at 2 PM at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Mulberry Cemetery beside her husband John Moorehead who passed away in 1985. Mrs. Moorehead passed away Tuesday morning in Donalson Care Center.

She was a native of Lincoln County and the daughter of the late James Franklin and Ozell Bateman Sullivan. Mrs. Moorehead was a farmer, homemaker and a member of the Belleville Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include two daughters Terri Moorehead Hicklen of Fayetteville and Margaret Moorehead Cunningham and husband Randy of Fayetteville, grandchildren, Doug Cunningham and wife Sandy, Cindy Hill, Stephen Hicklen and wife Shelia and Kristi Hall and husband Asa H. all of Fayetteville, great- grandchildren, Travis and Logan Hill, Maggie and Mollie Cunningham, Alec Scivally, Clarissa Hicklen, Emma Hall and John Tucker Hall. She was preceded in death by two brothers Eldon and R. L. Sullivan.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday evening 5-8 PM at Higgins Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund or The Lincoln County Health Foundation, P. O. Box 1458, Fayetteville, TN 37334.

Mrs. Moorehead was always such a sweet lady, just like her daughters. I know how much you will miss her in your lives.

“Mom” was quite a southern lady. Always with a smile and a kind word was her greeting to all that knew her. She was a wonderful woman. Margaret & Terri, my thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
