Jennie Lee Kent

Funeral service for Mrs. Jennie Lee Kent, age 83, of Fayetteville, will be conducted Sunday, February 14, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Doyle Fanning officiating. Burial will follow in Barnes Cemetery. Mrs. Kent passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016 at the Donalson Care Center.

Mrs. Kent was a native of Lincoln County, the daughter of the late Issaic Hern and Eva Jane Barnes Meeks. She was a homemaker and a member of the Pentecostal faith.

Survivors include her children Michael Kent of Fayetteville, Joyce Locker of Taft, Kathy Sisk of Fayetteville, Connie Williams of Flintville, Janice Smith of Fayetteville, Peggy Carter of Mississippi, Sandy Locker of Cherokee, AL, brothers J.C. Meeks of Fayetteville, Wesley Meeks of Huntland, TN, sisters Eveline Hale of Shelbyville, TN, Ruth Hale of New Market, AL, 24 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 21 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William H. Kent, Jr., grandson Chris Locker, great grandchildren Steven Locker, Zachary Locker, Elizabeth Locker, Shawn Kent, Jr. and several brothers and sisters.

Visitation with the family will be Sunday from 12 until 2 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home.

My precious granny. You were my one contant person in my life. You raised my. You loved me. I don’t know how to live without you. I know you went to be with Jesus . I miss and love you so.
