I am so so sorry! I taught Jamie at LCHS and at Motlow. She was a joy to have in class. This is the loss of a vital young woman far too soon.

I don’t even have words to say how sorry I am. Jamie was one of the most precious souls I have ever known. She was so selfless. I will never forget her coming to spend the afternoon with me when Reid was born. She came bearing gifts and food and just held the baby so I could have a little break. She offered me such encouragement that day, assuring me that I would be a good mom and that I knew what I was doing more than I thought I did. I could name so many other times she did things like that for me. “Letting” me drive her ugly gold car around the church parking lot for hours on end. (I may have actually stolen the car, but that has more to do with Jana than with me.) I learned so much as an annoying kid snooping around her bedroom in the early 90s. I’m sure I’ll be flooded with more and more memories as days go by. She was like a big sister to me too for a long time, and I am just heartbroken that she’s gone. I can’t think of my own childhood without thinking of the Hamilton girls. Thank you, Jana, for sharing her with me. I loved her and I love you.
