Funeral services for Mr. James Tate, age 75 of Fayetteville will be conducted at 2PM Monday at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Ronnie Hudgins officiating. Burial will follow in Wrights Cemetery. Mr. Tate passed away Friday October 16th at his residence.
He was a native of Marshall County and was the son of the late Willie L. and Judy Jewell Hobby Tate. He was retired supervisor at Moon’s Pencil Company and served as Elder at the Cyruston Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Emily Spray Tate of Fayetteville, four children James Edward (Eddie) Tate and wife Sheree of Lewisburg, TN, Priscilla Brewer and husband Bennie of McBurg, TN, Myra Carrol and husband David of Cornersville, and Danny Tate and wife Judy of Lewisburg, TN, grandchildren Jamie Owen, Tina Wood, CurtisTate, Heather Meek, Jeremy Brewer, Zack Brewer, Michelle Clevenger, Jennifer London, Josh Mitchell, Tiffany Mitchell, Ryan Walker and Emily Tate, 20 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Tate was preceded in death by three grandchildren Misty Ann Tate, James Edward Tate II and Melanie Mae Mitchell, three sisters Francis McClenny, Dora Lou Johnson and Ruby Guthrey and a brother Willie Lavoy Tate.
Visitation with the family will Sunday 4-9PM at Higgins Funeral Home.
Those to serve as pallbearers are Curtis Tate, Jeremy Brewer, Zack Brewer, Josh Mitchell, Ryan Walker, Steven Owen, Sean Wood, and Daniel Talley.
