James Stanley Smartt

It is with regret we announce the passing of James Stanley Smartt, age 73, of Flintville, TN. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 pm on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Lincoln Cemetery with Bro. Eddie Graves officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 12 pm to 2 pm on Saturday at Higgins Funeral Home.

Stanley was born December 14, 1948, in Lincoln County, TN to the late Wiley and Josephine Henderson Smartt. He was a member of Lincoln Baptist Church and he worked as a painter and a truck driver. He also ran Jeans Café at Flintville for several years, and later retired as Custodian from Flintville School. Stanley passed away January 24, 2022, at Lincoln Medical Center.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Carol Marty Smartt; son, Barry (Tammy) Smartt of Flintville; sister, Nancy Smartt of Rogersville, AL; and grandson, Cole Smartt. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Higgins Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of James Stanley Smartt.

Stanley was a good friend and always positive and encouraging to me. I will miss seeing him around. My deepest condolences goes to the family.

Worked with Mr. Stanley and his wife Carol at Flintville , what a loving and caring man always talked of his beloved Cole!

Stanley was a great person and friend. He will truly be missed!! Always enjoy talking to him. Just talked to Stanley Saturday at the Dollar store.. Prayers for the family.
