James Marvin McNeese

Funeral service for James Marvin McNeese, age 82, of Fayetteville, will be conducted at 2 PM Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Marvin was born on July 18, 1935 in Franklin County, TN to the late Josephine Colbert and Ernest McNeese. He retired from Genesco, having worked there for about 45 years and was a member of the Fayetteville Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mr. McNeese loved hunting, fishing, working on the farm, and helping his family or anyone in need. Marvin passed away on March 9, 2018 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Marie Crabtree McNeese; son, Mark McNeese and his wife Stephanie of Lynchburg; daughter, Kathy Lindlau and her husband Paul of Monteagle; grandchildren, Hillary McNeese Higginbotham and her husband Jeff of Memphis, Mack Lindlau of Murfreesboro, and Wyatt Lindlau of Chattanooga; and a sister, Brenda Franklin of Fayetteville. In addition to his parents, Mr. McNeese was preceded in death by a sister, Joberta McNeese Clift.

Visitation with the family will be from 12 PM until time of service at 2 PM on Sunday at Higgins Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fayetteville Cumberland Presbyterian Church or the charity of your choice.
