Funeral service for Mr. James “Jim” Danny Moore, age 67, of the Booneville Community, will be conducted Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Booneville Cemetery. Mr. Moore passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Lincoln Medical Center.
Mr. Moore was a native of Fayetteville, the son of the late James E. and Birdie Mae Tucker Moore. He Graduated from Fayetteville Central High School in 1966 and was drafted into the U.S. Army, serving from January of 1968 until 1971. He was a Vietnam veteran and served in Korea. He went to work for Bellsouth on January 3, 1971, was elected to the Executive Board as a representative from 1975 until 1978. He was elected 2nd Vice President in 1978 and elected president in 1981 serving a 3 year term. He ran again and was re-elected in 1984 serving until 1987 before going back to the Elm Hill Pike location of Bellsouth. He left there and went to Brentwood before retiring in 2000.
Mr. Moore is survived by his wife of 47 years Gayla Patterson Moore of the Booneville Community, son Michael Moore of the Booneville Community, sister Dinah Moore Norman of Fayetteville, aunts Mabel Morgan of Nashville, TN, Jean Tucker of Huntsville, AL, uncle Wendell Tucker of Waverly, TN and a host of friends and extended family.
Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, September 1, 2015 from 6 until 8 p.m. and Wednesday, September 2, 2015 from 12 until 2 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home.
