James “Jim” Carroll Smith

It is with regret that we announce the passing of Mr. James “Jim” Carroll Smith, age 75, of Fayetteville, TN. Visitation with the family will be held at 5 PM until 8 PM on Monday, April 22, 2019, at Higgins Funeral Home. No service will follow the visitation.

Mr. Smith was born on August 7, 1943 in Lincoln County, TN to the late Asa and Nell Smith. He worked as a program manager for Dynetics in Huntsville, AL. Mr. Smith passed away on April 18, 2019 at Huntsville Hospital.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Janice Merrell Smith; son, Justin (Amy) Harwell of Fayetteville, TN; daughter, Jamie Cobb of Nashville, TN; and grandchildren, Aubrynn and Asher Cobb, Baylee (Jake) Taylor, and Maycee Hammons. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Hayden Hammons.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hayden C. Hammons Memorial Scholarship Fund, PO Box 116, Fayetteville, TN 37334. Higgins Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Mr. Smith.
