A graveside service for Mr. James Howard Thornton, age 90 of Huntsville, AL, will be conducted Monday at 10:30 AM at Eastview Cemetery in Union City, TN. Mr. Thornton passed away Friday evening at Floyd E. “Tut” Fann State Veterans Home. Higgins Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A native of Union City, TN he was the son of the late Charles and Bertha Thornton, was in the Trucking business, a World War II Army Veteran, and a member of the Bishop St. Church of Christ.
Survivors include his son Robert Tom Terrell of Huntsville, AL, grandchildren Christa Franzen of Atlanta, Michael Terrell of Raleigh, NC, Nelana Towry of Fayetteville, Amanda Fanning of Lynchburg, and Bart Terrell of Fayetteville, 8 Great Grandchildren and two nieces Donna Forrester and Jennifer Cates of Mayfield, KY. Mr. Thornton was preceded in death by his wife Ida Nell Thornton.
