Funeral services for Mr. James C. “John” Smith, age 77, of Fayetteville will be conducted at 4:30pm Saturday at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Bert Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hills Cemetery beside his wife Jean Gibson Smith who died in 2006. Mr. Smith died Wednesday in Huntsville Hospital.
He was a native of Melklenburg, NC, and the son of the late James Otis and Evelyn Ott Smith. Mr. Smith was a retired machine operator with Nabisco and attended the Holiness Church.
Survivors include a daughter Pamela Kilcoyne of Burlington, NJ, son David Smith of Burlington, NJ, two sisters Margie Sanders of South Carolina and Audrey Jean of North Carolina, sister-in-law Mildred Smith of Fayetteville, two brothers Marvin Smith of North Carolina, Alford Smith of New Jersey, half-sisters Pat Avery and Diane Shoup both of North Carolina, two half-brothers Tommy Smith and Jimmy Smith both of North Carolina and one granddaughter Mary Kilcoyne. He was preceded in death by brother George Smith.
Visitation with the family will be Saturday from 2PM until 4:30pm at Higgins Funeral Home
