Funeral services for Mr. J.B. Patterson, age 90, of the Booneville community, will be conducted at 3:30 PM Sunday at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Jason Weddington officiating. Burial will follow in Booneville Cemetery beside his wife of 57 years, Ruth Bartlett Patterson, who passed away in 1999. Mr. Patterson passed away Friday evening at Donalson Care Center.
A native of Bedford County, he was a son of the late Lee J. and Ocie Hart Patterson, a lifetime farmer and resident of Lincoln County, and a member and elder of the Booneville Church of Christ where he was a long time song leader. Mr. Patterson was a World War II veteran with the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his son Dale Patterson and wife Carol of Murfreesboro, daughter Gayla Patterson Moore and husband Danny of Nashville, son Donald Patterson and wife Becky of Booneville, eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, sisters Janie Mae Dotson of Winchester, Ocie Lee Frame and husband Clifton of Chapel Hill, TN, and brother John O. Patterson of Shelbyville. He was preceded in death by siblings R.L. Patterson and Mary Dowdle and sister-in-law Juanita Patterson.
Visitation with the family will be from 1-3:30 PM Sunday afternoon at Higgins Funeral Home.
